An overwhelming 72% of the students voted YES for a New Student Union. We witnessed the incredible dedication, enthusiasm and teamwork of UWM students and employees during this project and we cannot fully express our thanks for everyone’s hard work.
This is the biggest project in UW-Milwaukee’s history and you can say you were a part of it. Congratulations on making history!
So what’s next?
The University of Wisconsin Board of Regents and State Building Commission will review the proposal in mid-summer and the state government will have the final say when they release the 2013 – 2015 budget. When this happens, the fun begins.
The designs and new features of the New Student Union will be finalized and we anticipate the facility to open in fall of 2018. We will keep the campus community updated as the project progresses.
Don’t forget to vote YES to a New Union TODAY! This could be the end of the road or the beginning of a much-needed journey! A New Union will give UWM the facelift she deserves! No more temporary Band-Aids for cracks and leaks!
Today is the day to Vote for the New Union! Check your Pantherlink e-mail inbox for the link to the survey!
This is it! The eve of the New Union vote. If you’re a newbie here, be sure to check out all the visual renderings of what our Student Union could look like if we vote YES! UWM needs this, you need this, we need this. Vote YES!
This is it: Voting Week!
Wednesday and Thursday are the New Union voting days. Keep your eyes peeled for the voting link in your Pantherlink e-mail inbox. The only way to get your voice heard is to cast your vote March 28 & 29!
If there’s one thing this entire campaign has been about, it’s been our concern for your butts. A New Union will bring countless chairs for the derrières of our student body. Vote YES for more chairs and New Union!
Spring Break is coming to close. (Sigh….) We hope you’re enjoying some well-deserved time off but when you return to campus, be sure to remind your friends that we need a New Union!
March 28 & 29! Don’t forget!
Be safe, be smart and vote YES!
Let’s face a harsh truth: The current Recreation Center just isn’t large enough to re-enact scenes from The Big Lebowski with accuracy. Vote YES for New Union and vote YES for your new favorite hangout spot. Mark it 8, dude.
